Introduction:

Hello, so-and-so!

First of all, I want to thank you for taking some of your precious time to help us with this project. Your contribution will greatly enrich the outcome. Thank you very much!

Before we begin, I want to ask you if you would allow me to record our interview so that I don't have to take notes now and don't forget anything we said here. Do you allow that?

I want you to know that this is not a test. There is no "right" answer, and none of your answers will be considered wrong, okay?

Another important piece of information is that whatever you want to say, say it without worrying. Nothing here is personal and the more honest you are, the better.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

So, as I explained to you, I'm developing an app to help people record and calculate their expenses automatically at the time of purchase, which allows them to better control their expenses and how much money they have left in the month. Please answer me:

  • Basic questions:

    •  In general, how do you feel when it comes to controlling your finances?

    • Do you have the habit of recording your daily expenses?

    • How do you record your daily and monthly expenses?

    • What payment method do you use the most? (debit, credit, Pix)

    • Do you have the habit of keeping track of everything you spend monthly?

    • Sometimes you may forget about an expense or another and at the end of the month the bill doesn't add up. Has this ever happened to you? If so, how did you feel?

Great! Can I now move on to some activities I'd like to ask you to do? I'm going to ask you to share your screen.

I'm going to ask you to try to think out loud when you do the activity, okay?

  • Command 1: Open the prototype link I sent you, you will receive a purchase message. Your task is to locate this purchase in the app by clicking on today's date.

  • Follow-up on command 1: Did you find this activity easy or difficult?

  • Command 2: These expenses that you are seeing on the selected date are organized into Categories. The next activity I will ask you to do is to create a Category. Just one detail: since this is an example, you will not be able to change texts that have already been filled in.

  • Follow-up on command 2: So, did you find anything confusing?

  • Command 3: Let's move on to the last activity. I had asked you which payment method you use the most, so I will ask you to register a Payment Method. Same observation as before: since this is an example, you will not be able to change texts that have already been filled in.

  • Follow-up on command 3: So, what level of difficulty did you find this activity?

  • Command 4: Do you have any other comments you would like to make regarding the app?

Closing:

Ok, that's the end of our interview! Once again I want to thank you for giving me a few minutes of your precious time to contribute to this project. As soon as I make progress in developing the app, I'll share it with you.

Thank you and see you soon!
