1 - Tell us a little about yourself, your profession and your routine (to understand the context of your life, profession, expenses)

I work in a technology company, 3 days of home office and 2 days of office, I have 2 children, my routine is more work and home. During my in-person work I eat lunch out and when I work from home I eat lunch at home. Some days in the evenings and on weekends we end up going out with the children to have some family activities.

2 - Do you try to organize your daily expenses in any way? If so, how? (to understand organizational methods, tools such as notebooks, notes, Excel, etc.)

Yes, I need to control them. I've tried some banking apps, but the most recent way I've been doing it is in Excel, where I control both monthly expenses and monthly bills, water, electricity, IPVA, and, in short, fixed monthly expenses.

I control paydays and account balances, but most of our expenses, apart from fixed expenses, both in terms of quantity and value, are concentrated on the credit card and this is our daily use, so everything we do, we concentrate on the card. So I have my card, my husband's additional card, we share the same limit, and I did a customization in Excel, where I created some categories that are more common for us, so I describe what is a family outing, what is an expense made with the children, something for me, and then with each purchase we open Excel and put the purchase in the categories so we can have an idea of the value of the month.

3 - What challenges do you face when trying to keep track of your spending? How do you feel when you encounter these challenges?

So, we manually enter the day of the transaction, the amount and the category. There are days when it accumulates without registering it, and when that happens we lose a bit of control.

Another difficulty is that we use more than one card, so sometimes we have control over what was spent on the card, but not over what is scheduled, such as online debits, streaming, Ifood, Uber, in short, purchases that we don't see at the time they happened.

4 - Do you have any suggestions on how to solve these challenges? Or at least improve them?

I think that if I could record a monthly amount and, as we make purchases, calculate an average of how much I can still spend per day so as not to exceed the limit I set, this would generate additional control and serve as a parameter to police myself.

5 - Is there anything else you would like to say that I didn't ask?

I think that's it.
