Opening text
Hello, so-and-so!
First of all, I want to thank you for taking some of your precious time to help us with this project. Your contribution will greatly enrich the result. Thank you very much!
So, as we said before, we want to talk a little to better understand how people organize their finances.
And so that we can talk without me stopping to take notes, I asked my colleague so-and-so, who is also part of this project, to join us. He/she will be here taking notes while we talk. Is that okay?
And also, so that we don't miss any important points, I would like to record this meeting. Don't worry, we won't publish or share this video with anyone. So I'm going to ask your permission to do so and then start recording. Do you have permission?
Before we start recording, I just want you to be sure that we're not here to analyze you. That's why there are no right or wrong answers. We just want to listen to you and learn more from your experience, okay?
Once you have authorized the recording, say that you will repeat the introduction and then start asking questions.
Press the record button and start asking questions.
Hello, so-and-so!
First of all, I want to thank you for taking some of your precious time to help us with this project. Your contribution will greatly enrich the result. Thank you very much!
As we said before, we want to talk a little to better understand how people organize their finances. So, let's go!
0 - Before I ask anything, tell us a little about yourself and what you do for a living.
1 - Understand how the person manages their finances
Main question: After receiving their salary, what is their financial routine?
What types of payments do they make?
Do they write down their expenses?
What types of expenses do they write down (fixed, small)
Why do they make those notes?
1.1 - If the person says they don't control their finances
What difficulties prevent you from doing this control?
2 - Understand how the credit card fits into their routine
Main question: Tell me a little about how you use the credit card in your routine
3 - Understand if they use the card because of the benefits (cashback, miles, points)
Main question: What are the pros and cons of using a credit card?
But speaking specifically about the card, how do you do this control?
How do you access the card information?
3.1 - Understand the person's relationship with financial apps (if the person says they access their bills through their bank's app)
Both from your bank (it's good to know which bank this would be)
If you mention it - How often do you use it in your routine and why do you prefer to keep track of it?
If you don't mention it - Do you access your bank through the app?
So many financial apps
Why do you use the app to control? Tell me more about it
If you don't mention an app - Have you ever used a financial app? Why?
4 - Understand the person's relationship with impulse buying
Main question: Do you have a habit of making unplanned purchases? (for example: did you see a promotion and buy it?)
Do you remember the last time you made an unplanned purchase? When was it? Tell us a little about it
5 - Understand how the person deals with their goals and objectives
Main question: Do you remember the last time you achieved a financial goal or objective? Tell me a little about how you felt
How did you plan?
How long did it take?
Did you have help from someone or did you plan it alone?
6 - Understand whether the person would find it interesting to have financial tips within the app (financial advisor)
Main question: Are you looking to learn about financial management?
Looking for tips or reading about the subject?
7 - Is there anything else you would like to say that I didn't ask?
Closing text
So-and-so, once again I want to thank you for your willingness to talk to us. Rest assured that this project will be much more effective because of your contribution.
We will continue working and when it is ready we will let you know so you can see the result, ok?
Thank you and see you later.
